About Cellulite
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the dimpled appearance of the skin on and around the outer thighs, buttocks and other body areas where fatty deposits are found in close proximity to the skin. Women are more prone to cellulite formation than men and almost all women over the age of 20 have cellulite to some degree. Cellulite is not necessarily a symptom of being overweight and, in fact, many people who are NOT overweight have cellulite. The appearance of cellulite is not always reduced by weight loss.

What causes cellulite?
Cellulite occurs in the subcutaneous fat layer just beneath your skin. Your skin is connected to the underlying muscle by vertical strands of tissue. As we get older, more and more fat cells become trapped between these vertical strands of tissue due to poor circulation, poor diet, lack of exercise and insufficient water intake. Also, as we get older, these vertical strands of tissue lose elasticity and begin to shrink. The combination of these vertical strands of tissue pulling in on your skin and fatty deposits and fibrosis pushing out against your skin is what causes the dimpled appearance of cellulite.

How doVellaShape™ & VellaSmooth™ treatments feel?
Vellashape™ & VellaSmooth™ treatments are relaxing and invigorating. You are literally receiving a massage. Some clients may even fall asleep because it is so relaxing. The sensation is similar to a deep, invigorating massage. Treatment levels are adjusted for a client's comfort.

How often do I have to have VellaShape™ & VellaSmooth™ treatments?
The typical regimen is twice weekly for 30-45 minutes. The total number of treatments required depends on the individual's goals and needs. Treatments can be increased to five a week if desired but we recommend at least 24 hours between treatments.

When can I begin to see results?
Noticeable outward changes can usually be seen within 4-5 treatments. However, results vary. Studies of women treated twice a week over an eight week period showed loss of inches in 100% of the participants and visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite.

How long will the results last?

Is there a limit to how many treatments I can have?

Does this replace diet and exercise?
